When Jackie Kennedy held her iconic tour of the White House for television station CBS on Valentine's Day in 1962, she changed the world's view of the First Lady and of women in general. Now, more than sixty years later, Canadian, Tel Aviv-based dancer, choreographer and journalist Ori Lenkinski summons Jackie's "energy" again to take her audience on a tour of the here and now.
Lenkinski's performance The Suit is a site-specific performance in which the text is always modified depending on the city and theater in which the work is presented. Consequently, no two performances of The Suit are the same. Seen through the eyes of Jackie Kennedy, Lenkinski touches on current themes, and in doing so she is dressed in her pink suit, although in her case, unfortunately, it is not Chanel.
