For the fifteenth year in a row Holland Dance Festival is organizing Talent On The Move, a touring program which serves two purposes: it offers you the chance to get acquainted with the contemporary dance stars of the future and it gives the young talents of Codarts Rotterdam the opportunity to gain flying hours and shine in creations by famous choreographers. This time the Talent On The Move tour will once again start during our festival and just like two years ago it will be a 'special edition'.
Exclusively for both festival performances at Theater de Veste in Delft, the young adult hbo dancers from Codarts will be joined on stage by even younger talents from the Havo/vwo for Music and Dance (also part of Codarts) and the Group Grenade from Aix-en-Provence.
Broadening horizons
With the program Play, Move, Explore, Become - which includes workshops, lessons and other exchange activities in addition to performances - the young dancers from Rotterdam and Aix-en-Provence are challenged to work in an international and intercultural context and broaden their horizons. The project offers them the chance to explore and show their passion and qualities outside their borders and familiar surroundings. A multifaceted program is specially created for the performances in our festival, in which each age group can show its best side. Among others, the young talents from Aix-en-Provence will dance parts from Room With A View by the French theater collective (LA)HORDE, which already provided a hit at our festival in 2022 with Marry Me in Bassiani. Spanish, Netherlands-based choreographer Fernando Troya will create a new work with students from both cities: Rescuing Neverland.
Energy, connection and openness
The Groupe Grenade was founded in 1992 by the extremely inspired Josette Baïz, after she had made two successful dance films with children from Marseille and Aix-en-Provence. From its inception, the training focused on "mixing and matching" different backgrounds and dance styles to create a unique language, while encouraging one's own creativity. Today, Groupe Grenade consists of about sixty children and teenagers between the ages of 7 and 19 and the Grenade style symbolizes energy, connection and openness.
